Connect ActiveCampaign
Connect your ActiveCampaign account to Data Curator so your contacts and form submissions flow into your dashboards. ActiveCampaign connects with two values you copy from your own account settings: an API URL and an API Key.
Before you start
- You'll need a Data Curator account with owner/admin access to your organization.
- You'll need access to your ActiveCampaign account settings to view your API credentials.
Get your API credentials from ActiveCampaign
- In ActiveCampaign, open Settings (the gear icon in the left sidebar), then choose Developer.
- You'll see an API Access section with two values:
- URL — your account's own API address, something like
https://youraccount.api-us1.com. - Key — a long string of letters and numbers.
- URL — your account's own API address, something like
- Copy both. Unlike most platforms, ActiveCampaign shows your key whenever you come back to this page, so there's nothing to save off elsewhere.
Finish in Data Curator
- In Data Curator, open Settings → Platform Accounts (the gear icon in the top-right, then Platform Accounts).
- Click Connect platform account, then choose ActiveCampaign.
- Fill in:
- API URL — paste the URL exactly as ActiveCampaign shows it, including
https://. - API Key — the key you just copied.
- Display name — a friendly label so you can tell this account apart later.
- API URL — paste the URL exactly as ActiveCampaign shows it, including
- Leave ActiveCampaign Account Slug blank — Test Scopes reads it from your API URL and fills it in.
- Click Test Scopes to confirm the credentials work, then save and connect.
- Your import starts automatically: your full contact list, plus historical form submissions.
If the test fails
- Key rejected — copy the key again from Settings → Developer. It's long, and a partial copy is the usual culprit.
- URL rejected — use your account's own API address from that same screen, not
activecampaign.com. Each account has its own subdomain.
Good to know
- New submissions arrive in real time. After you connect, Data Curator registers a webhook with ActiveCampaign so new contacts and submissions land as they happen, rather than waiting for the next scheduled sync.
- ActiveCampaign doesn't carry purchase data, so revenue in your dashboards comes from your payment and seller platforms (Stripe, PayPal, ThriveCart and the rest). Contacts from ActiveCampaign are matched to those buyers by email, so a subscriber who later buys shows up as one person with one lifetime value.
- ActiveCampaign doesn't pass along UTM or ad-click data, so submissions from it won't carry campaign attribution. Attribution for paid traffic comes from your Meta and Google Ads connections.
