Connect Meta
Connect your Meta ad accounts to Data Curator so your Facebook and Instagram ad spend sits right next to the revenue it actually produced. Meta connects in one click — you authorize Data Curator from your Facebook account. There are no API keys to copy. Data Curator only ever reads your ad data. It never creates, edits, pauses or deletes an ad, campaign or budget.
Before you start
- You'll need a Data Curator account with permission to add platform accounts to your organization.
- Sign in to the Facebook account that has access to the ad accounts you want to connect.
Connect Meta
-
In Data Curator, open Settings → Platform Accounts (the gear icon in the top-right, then Platform Accounts on the left).
-
Click + Connect Platform, then choose Meta.
-
Click Connect Meta. You'll be taken to Facebook to authorize Data Curator.
-
Review the access request and approve it. Data Curator asks to view your ads and ad-related data, and to see which ad accounts your business portfolios give you access to.
Data Curator deliberately does not ask for Meta's ad-management permission, the one an app needs to change campaigns — so it could not edit your ads even if it tried. The second permission on the screen is what lets us see the ad accounts your business portfolio shares with you; we only read from it.
-
Tick every ad account you want to connect, then click Apply Selection. (Account IDs and names fill in automatically — there's nothing to type.)
-
You'll land back in Data Curator and the import starts automatically.
Connecting more than one account
You can connect as many ad accounts as you like at once — the picker lists every ad account your Facebook login can reach, so just tick them all and apply. Each one becomes its own platform account and syncs independently, and they all share the single Facebook authorization you just granted (so re-authorizing one re-authorizes them all).
Two things worth knowing about that screen:
- Accounts you've already connected appear pre-ticked. Your selection represents the full set of accounts you want connected — not just the new ones you're adding.
- Unticking an account that's currently connected will disconnect it. Its access is revoked and it stops syncing. Data Curator asks you to confirm first and lists exactly what's about to be disconnected, and you can always reconnect it later.
Ad accounts owned by a Business portfolio show up too. Most businesses run ads through a Meta Business portfolio (Business Manager) rather than a personal ad account, so Data Curator asks for business access purely to list those ad accounts in the picker. If your Facebook login reaches an ad account through a business portfolio, you'll see it there.
What comes across
- Campaigns, ad sets, and ads — your account structure, including status.
- Daily performance — impressions, clicks, spend, and reach, broken down by day.
- Up to the last 24 months of history on the first import, so your trends have something to sit on.
Once the first import finishes, new data flows in on its own — there's nothing to re-import. Data Curator also re-checks the most recent week on every sync, because Meta keeps adjusting recent figures as conversions get attributed. Numbers for the last few days can shift slightly for a day or two after the fact; that's Meta restating them, and Data Curator picks up the correction automatically.
Where to see it
Open Ads (Meta) in your dashboards to see spend, impressions, clicks, CTR, and CPC — alongside the revenue your campaigns actually drove.
Read-only, always
Data Curator only ever reads your Meta advertising data. We never create, edit, pause, or delete campaigns, ad sets, ads, budgets, or anything else in your account, and we never post to your Pages. We don't request access to your Pages, your Instagram content, or your customer lists.
You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Platform Accounts, or remove Data Curator's access directly from your Facebook Business Integrations settings.
