Connect QuickBooks

Connect your QuickBooks Online company to Data Curator so your invoices flow into your dashboards. QuickBooks connects in one click — there are no keys to copy. You'll be sent to Intuit to approve access, then returned to Data Curator.

Before you start

• You'll need a Data Curator account with owner/admin access to your organization.
• You'll need to be signed in to the QuickBooks Online company you want to connect, with permission to authorize apps.

Is this the right connection for you?

QuickBooks is most useful if you invoice through QuickBooks or through a CRM like 17hats, HoneyBook or Dubsado. Those CRMs don't offer a way for Data Curator to read them directly, but they all sync their invoices into QuickBooks — so connecting QuickBooks is how that itemized detail reaches your dashboards.

If you sell only through checkout pages and carts, your seller platform connections already cover you and QuickBooks is optional.

Connect

1. In Data Curator, open Settings → Platform Accounts (the gear icon in the top-right, then Platform Accounts).
2. Click Connect platform account, then choose QuickBooks.
3. Give the account a display name — a friendly label so you can tell it apart later.
4. Click through to Connect. You'll land on Intuit's authorization screen.
5. Choose the company you want to connect. If you manage more than one QuickBooks company, this is the step that decides which one — check the name at the top before you approve.
6. Approve the access. Intuit returns you to Data Curator.
7. Leave QuickBooks Company ID blank — we read it from Intuit and fill it in.
8. Your import starts automatically: your invoices and their line items.

Good to know

• Data Curator only ever reads your books. It never creates, edits or deletes anything. Intuit offers apps a single accounting permission rather than a read-only one, so the consent screen won't say "read-only" — but the only thing Data Curator ever sends QuickBooks is a query.
• Your revenue is still counted once. QuickBooks adds invoice and accounts-receivable detail on top of the payments Data Curator already reads from Stripe, PayPal and HighLevel — it doesn't add a second copy of the same money.
• What you get is invoice visibility: what was invoiced, what it was for line by line, and what's still outstanding.
• One company per connection. To connect a second QuickBooks company, add another platform account and authorize it separately.
